While pizza delivery and Chinese take-out are frequent college student favorites, graduation is a good time to brush up on your table manners as you prepare to enter the real world. University Career Services, the General Alumni Association and the Senior Marshals have teamed up to offer seniors a dining and professional etiquette experience during Senior Week. Enjoy a three-course meal at the Friday Center while you review some of the soft skills employers look for in new college graduates. This two-hour, three-course dining tutorial overviews the following etiquette topics:
– Utensils, place settings and napkins
– Soup and salad
– Bread, beverages and condiments
– Ordering, serving and passing
– Professional attire and business casual attire
– Introductions and handshakes
– Invitations and personal notes
– Technology etiquette
– Making professional conversation
