On March 23 at 8 pm in the Back Room of famed local music venue Cat’s Cradle (300 E. Main St., Carrboro), UNC violin professor Jennifer Curtis her studio present an epic production inspired by T.S. Eliot’s The Waste Land in a one-time performance. Curated and produced by Jennifer Curtis, Ledah Finck, Avery Mcguirt, and Ini Liu, this dramatic adventure brings together violin virtuosity, musical composition and improvisation, and the rhythms of ritual, as the performers embody and perform treasured fables and questions for a suffering humanity. An incredible cast of guest artists accompany the journey: Will Ridenour and Diali Cissokhi of Karia Ba (kora and percussion), Robbie Link (bass), Chris Johnson (tabla), Skye McLeod (bodhrán and cajón), Prashant Bhargava (film), and Petna Ndaliko Katondolo (film). We invite you to share the odyssey with us.
