Description: Double Wide: Petere Mystica Saecularia is a re-contextualization of the autonomous, modernist art gallery as a space for contemplation within our swiftly excursive and disposable society. It juxtaposes the highbrow environment and conceits of the art space with the lowbrow, fleeting detritus of our late capitalist lifestyles. In so doing it seeks to explore how these two worlds support and cannibalize each other as well as create space for an experience of mysticism in contemporary society.
