Description: Join the music department for an afternoon celebrating the 450th birthday of Italian composer Claudio Monteverdi. Tim Carter will deliver remarks before a concert featuring the UNC Baroque Ensemble, Chamber Singers, and Sackbut Ensemble, with faculty vocalists Tim Sparks, Jeanne Fischer, and Marc Callahan. General admission is $15 ($10 for students and UNC faculty/staff).

Description: Tim Portlock was born in Chicago which inspired his lifelong interest in the dialogue between place and the formation of identity. Educated primarily as a traditional visual artist Portlock has worked in the past as a community-based muralist as well as a studio painter. His current body of work is created using 3D gaming technology to simulate real world and imagined spaces based on the abandoned and foreclosed buildings in biking distance of his home in Philadelphia.
