John and June Allcott Gallery: disproduction

Download

Location: Hanes Art Center

Description: In their first collaborative endeavor, Kimberly English and Carley Zarzeka combine their shared interests in labor and process. disproduction is a call, an answer, an invitation, to be futile. Tension between calculation and mischief transforms dignity of space – leaving one in an accumulation of what is, pondering what could have been, what was, and what is for naught. The dance of push, pull simultaneously destroys and manifests this soft world that we inhabit. Defying folded order by wreaking minuscule destructions places the viewer in both a game and a grieving.
